As usual with this stock we are left to speculate and read between the lines to determine what is happening. I believe this deal initiated way back when Daimler bought out Evonik and Ralph E. Lean was brought on. In the last financials the R&D expenditures were much higher than usual last quarter and now we can assume that was to incorporate the new patents into their battery including the new separion separator. The stats on this technology are impressive, much better thermal stability, less shrinkage and cycle life is greatly improved. Other separators melt at 140 celcius and this one is above 700. From what I read this allows for faster charging as well. They will be gaining some impressive staff as well with experience. I believe this gives them a very competitive battery they will manufacture at a very competitive price. The recent shuffle in management and staff is starting to make sense as they are more able to compete globally.
