I was under the impression that Panasonic would announce what technology they would use in the new battery plant. I am expecting that they will change from cylindrical cell to flat pouched cells as they are the only one using the high cost cylindrical cells.

Over the past year (Musk) has dished out several hints.

1. It will be an environmentally friendly battery. Is the current cell environmentally friendly? NO

2. It will come from a highly automated manufacturing process.

3. It will cost 30% less to manufacture.

4. The company the technology will come from will be little known to the battery world.

I just added them up and came up with the wild idea it was Electrovaya. I thought the announcement would come oun in November.
