The early feedbacks from the Altcar program are encouraging... it's good they can start to fine-tune the issue such as the ones as below

A controller regulates the amount of electricity and power sent to the motor, and in the test vehicle, every pump of the brake or a slight foot off the brake brings a bit of a jerk. The demo vehicle is being upgraded to a new controller, programmed for a smoother ride. But the ride will be just as uniquely silent.

When the rental program starts, members can sign up for hourly rentals or choose from two monthly options. In 12-18 months, the zero-carbon-emissions Maya 300 will be available for purchase by the general public.

MacDonald said hundreds have taken the Maya 300 for a spin since the test-drive program started.

“I think it’s great,” said 27-year-old Anna Follensbee, visiting the Inner Harbor for an O’s game two weekends ago.

“It’s good because public transportation is lacking. But it wouldn’t be practical for Follensbee to use the rental or car-sharing program, she said. She recently moved from the city to Baltimore County.

“It’s pretty spacious, surprisingly,” said Helen Ho, 27, of Washington, who checked out the Maya 300 while visiting Baltimore with friends. “You hear it’s the next big thing, but at one time they were saying that about the Segway.”
In fact, the people-mover Segway is also offered for rentals at the science center.
