Tata Nano: More variants coming up!
Finally, a lithium-ion battery powered electric Nano is also almost certain to happen – we expect this variant to be launched in India by end-2011. But, again, the e-Nano could be much more expensive than its petrol/diesel powered cousins – the car could cost as much as Rs 2.25-2.50 lakh. However, running costs for the electric Nano – which will be a zero emissions vehicle – are likely to be a fraction of the costs associated with petrol/diesel variants.
