Ecometals Litigation Update in Brazil

Toronto, Ontario – October 2, 2008 – Ecometals Limited

(TSX-V:EML) (the "Company”)
today reported that on October 1, 2008 an appeals court in Brazil ruled in favor of the

Company with respect to a dispute regarding the ownership of certain manganese assets in

the State of Amapa. The Company is awaiting further details of the ruling and will report

these details as they become available.
