Gold Production in Southern Ecuador
6 million oz Gold & 27 million oz Silver
Company IR stated a few weeks ago that the gravity concentrator circuit equipment had been delivered to the sight, and they were awaiting the arrival of the supplier crew to install the circuit into the processing plant. The company stated in their latest MD&A that they were still targetting late 2cd qtr for installation of the gravity concentrator.
Once the gravity concentrator is online, IR mentioned that they would start processing the higher grade stockpiled material for a number of weeks at the capacity of one ball mill, or 800 tpd, to test the whole process. I would imagine that the company will blend the stockpiled material with the continued feed coming from the decline development that is ongoing. No idea if the company will be able to make a decision to go to commercial production after the test run of the processing plant with the new equipment. That might still depend on the Gov't of Ecuador redefining the small-scale miners to a 1500 tpd production threshold, up from the current 300 tpd currently stated in the Mining Act of Ecuador.
There was no mention of what they think the grade of material that has been stockpiled, however the company decided to not run the higher grade material they were encountering as they extend their declines. According to earlier conversations with Bob Washer at PDAC, the company was hitting vein swarms in the non-resource material the declines are going through. IR stated that the coarse gold was "gumming up the carbon tanks process", so they were only processing lower grade material until the gravity concentrator was online.
Should be interesting to see what 3rd qtr production will be.
