Major Explorer In Central Quebec
Only a few days into the 2008 prospecting program and DIOS EXPLORATION (TSX VENTURE: DOS) and partner SIRIOS RESOURCES (TSX VENTURE: SOI) confirmed the field extent of the "A" zone along strike over 5 km. This "A" zone is a linear uranium spectrometric anomaly which corresponds to an east-west outcropping unit over more than 5 km. It is characterized by high uranium/thorium ratios. The eastern 3 km long part was prospected for the first time in the last few days. The "A" zone is now characterized by continuous high radioactive counts per seconds (cps) measured on an almost continuous outcropping surface up to 36,000 cps over a 5 km strike length and a 0.2 to 0.6 km width.
On the western part of the "A" zone, some ten values in U3O8 over 0,1% (up to 2.064%) and nine other between 0,05% and 0,1% were returned this winter over a 2 km strike length and a 600 m width from some thirty basement rock samples taken last Fall
A large volume model amenable to an open pit operation (such as the uranium Rossing deposit) is considered in association with numerous anatexis-granites found in surface within the LaGuiche Basin paragneisses. Up to date, the property hosts five first priority helicopter-borne spectrometric anomalous zones with good Uranium/Thorium ratios in association with structural features. A drilling program will test the "A" zone in the near future. A detailed helicopter-borne radiometric and magnetic survey will be carried out over the new parts of the property.
Following recent positive results, new claims were added to the UPINOR property which totals 780 claims covering some 400 sq. kilometers (131 claims pending). The property is located about 20 kilometers north of the Opinaca Nord uranium project and about 50 kilometers south of the all weather Trans-Taiga road, James Bay, Quebec. The UPINOR project is held 50-50 by DIOS and SIRIOS. DIOS is operator.
DIOS initiated the UPINOR uranium research project from conceptual design hypothesis and the field work is being carried out by IOS Services Geoscientifiques, Saguenay, Quebec. The annual general meeting of DIOS will be held at 11h30AM on June 5 at the Delta Centre-Ville, University street, Montreal.
