MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 7, 2010) - Dia Bras Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:DIB) is pleased to announce more high-grade results from exploration and development drilling at the Promontorio mine area at Dia Bras' Cusi Property, which is being conducted to develop additional resources in support of an updated resource estimate and mine plan for this mine. The El Gallo, El Gallo Back and Transversal veins are part of the Promontorio vein system (El Gallo map http://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/El_Gallo_DH_PRV3.pdf), and drilling is designed to identify areas that will be developed during 2010 and pilot-mined in 2011. Please see the latest results in the table below.
In addition, drilling of the San Antonio and San Antonio A veins (San Antonio map http://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/San_Antonio_Area_PRV3.pdf) of the Santa Eduviges vein system continues to identify blocks of mineralized rock that will be pilot-mined during 2010.
The Promontorio veins are high in silver and low in base metals, which indicate that in this area the veins are in the upper portion of the zoned epithermal system. The Santa Eduviges-San Antonio-Santa Marina area consists of multiple fracture-filled, quartz-carbonate veins containing high amounts of sulfide minerals that are typical of the middle portion (intermediate Pb, Zn, Cu) of the Ag zone in a zoned, low-sulfidation, epithermal vein system.
Dr. Thomas L. Robyn, Director and Head of Exploration for the Corporation, stated, "These exploration results show that the El Gallo vein of the Promontorio mine is well mineralized for silver. A ramp developed by Dia Bras has accessed the El Gallo vein and will be a starting point for pilot-mining of this vein system in 2011."

Pilot-Mining
The objective of pilot-mining the Cusi mineralization is to obtain factual information on the metallurgy of silver, lead and zinc mineralization, recovery rates, per tonne revenues at various commodity prices, mining costs and other factors. This information is essential for evaluation of the property's economic potential.
Results from drilling on El Gallo and other veins of the Promontorio mine are being compiled with the objective that a mine plan will be completed in early July, 2010. Development of the identified mineralized blocks will then begin in order to commence pilot-mining of Promontorio in early 2011. Ongoing pilot-mining will continue at the Santa Eduviges mine of the Cusi Property, and production from Promontorio will be added to that from Santa Eduviges and could significantly increase the value of mineralized rock to be processed at Dia Bras' wholly-owned Malpaso Mill, located just 36 kilometres from the Cusi Property.
Vat Construction
Two additional leach vats are under construction at the Corporation's Malpaso mill and a fifth is planned. Vats #3 and #4 will be completed during mid-April and will then be loaded with mill tailings for leach processing. These two additional vats will raise the leach capacity to an average of 200 tonnes per day. The fifth vat is scheduled to be operational during mid-May.
The Corporation has concluded a smelting and purchase agreement with Penoles and during March shipped eight dore bars totaling 114.4 kilos; the total silver content will be reported on completion of smelting and refining.
43-101 Update
Dia Bras has commissioned Geostat (SGS Canada, Inc.) of Montreal, Quebec, to update the resource calculation for the Cusi project that Geostat completed in May, 2008 (please see Dia Bras' news release of May 1, 2008). This calculation resulted in 2.12 million ounces of AgEq in the Measured plus Indicated categories and 14.6 million ounces of AgEq in the Inferred category for Santa Eduviges and Promontorio. A site visit by Geostat personnel was done during February 15-19 as part of the update.
Method of analysis
Samples sent for analysis are prepared by the ALS Chemex sample preparation laboratory in Chihuahua, Mexico, and assayed for Au by 50 g fire assay with AA finish, and for Ag by AA on 50 g split sample at the ALS Chemex North Vancouver Laboratory. Assays for Pb, Zn and Cu are done by Induction Coupled Plasma (ICP) at ALS Chemex.
Quality control
The quality assurance-quality control (QA-QC) of Dia Bras has been described in detail in both RPA's 43-101 reports of December, 2006, at Cusi and October, 2005, for Bolivar.
The technical content of this news release has been approved by Thomas L. Robyn, Ph.D., RPG, CPG and Director of Dia Bras, a Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101.
