MONTREAL, QUEBEC- July 23, 2009 - Dia Bras Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:DIB) is pleased to report that exploration teams of Dia Bras Exploration, Inc.'s wholly owned Mexican subsidiary, Dia Bras Mexicana S.A. de C.V. have identified new targets and ore shoots of high grade silver mineralization in the vein systems present in the areas of the Santa Eduwiges and Promontorio mines as well as other nearby areas during the Company's ongoing geologic review studies, mapping, sampling, and diamond core drilling at its Cusi project in Chihuahua, Mexico. Silver mineralization occurs as mineralized shoots in veins and in the hanging wall and footwall zones of the structures. In addition, potentially-mineable silver mineralization has been identified in the zone called Santa Rosa Chimney (Santa Eduwiges area), where at least five structures converge and the possibility of wider mineralized zones in the area of intersection of two or more structures are high. Low grade oxidized mineralization in the San Antonio open pit is also potentially mineable.
The Santa Eduwiges and Promontorio areas host a series of veins that represent excellent exploration targets. Table 1 shows a compilation of the veins at Santa Eduwiges and Table 2 shows a compilation of the veins at Promontorio.

Santa Eduwiges
In the Santa Eduwiges mine area , a minimum of 8 structures occur that average 1.0 to 1.5 m wide and yield intercepts of over 300 g Ag/t. Several of these structures converge in a zone located in the hanging wall block of the Green Fault and result in a mineralized zone called the Santa Rosa Chimney. The surface expression of the Santa Rosa Chimney consists of a potentially open-pitable area that measures roughly 180 by 50 m with oxidized Ag mineralization contained in the wall rocks of the veins. The samples from the oxidized portion of the chimney (San Antonio pit) averages 60-65 g Ag/t and represents a potential of about 900,000-1,100,000 tonnes. Preliminary bottle roll tests yielded results of 50 to 70% recovery and further tests will be done.

Mineralized shoots occur along known structures and very often at the intersection of two or more structures. Over a distance of about 200 m and 150 m down dip, one of the veins corresponds to a previously unknown structure that is located between the Santa Marina and San Antonio veins. This structure tends to be parallel to Santa Marina and appears to join it somewhere near the Santa Rosa zone. Also in the Santa Eduwiges mine area, another two mineralized shoots were identified in the Tascates and La Mexicana veins, which are currently being defined by drilling.
Promontorio
The Promontorio area (see attached figure) is located 0.85 km northwest of Santa Eduwiges mine and hosts a series of mineralized structures. Several potential targets have been identified in this area, the most important of which appears to be the convergence of nearly all of them with the Promontorio vein in an area located immediately below level 11 of the Promontorio mine. The potential for high grade and bulk tonnage mineralization is high. In addition, the intersections between those structures and the Veta del Contacto that runs semi-perpendicular to those veins represent good targets that have not been tested.
The Veta del Contacto is a structure that runs more or less parallel to the Cusi Fault. Information obtained from historical reports, maps and sections indicates that the Veta del Contacto structure has several mineralized shoots, with values that range from 30 to 120 ounces (about 900 to 3,600 g/t) of silver per ton. Most of these mineralized shoots are defined by the intersection of the veins mentioned above with this structure. Drilling in this area is in a very early stage and only three holes have been drilled to date. The first hole cut only a narrow zone with poor mineralization. The second hole, however, intersected an old stope with a 3 m wide stockwork and breccia zone and a narrow quartz vein with strong argentite mineralization over the hanging wall. The stockwork and breccia zone continues in the footwall for about another 7 to 8 m along the hole. A third hole was drilled and hit the narrow vein over the hanging wall but could not cross the stope. Drilling in the area continues and assays are pending.

Planned Exploration Work
A drilling program to continue testing the structures in the Santa Eduwiges mine area is planned. Sections of core from previous drilling have to be sampled where the core cut zones between veins in the Santa Rosa Chimney. Drilling in the "Veta del Contacto" is in progress and additional drill holes will be sited to test a portion of the vein that is located several meters to the east in the same structure. Surface mapping and sampling in the Promontorio area will continue. Review of the previous drilling carried out over the San Nicolas vein, located about 500 south of the Promontorio shaft, is in progress because a mineralized shoot with over 600 Ag g/t at the Providencia level elevation is mentioned in historical reports. The Providencia level is the level of underground workings that connects the Promontorio and Santa Eduwiges mines. Depending on time and availability, more work will be done in the areas of San Juan and Los Tajos.
Method of analysis
Diamond drill samples sent for analysis consisted of half NQ-size and BQ-size diamond core split on site, prepared by the ALS Chemex sample preparation laboratory in Chihuahua, Mexico, and assayed for Au by 50 g fire assay with AA finish, and for Ag by AA on 50 g split sample at the ALS Chemex North Vancouver Laboratory. Assays for Pb, Zn and Cu are done by Induction Coupled Plasma (ICP) at Chemex. Samples for the Los Tajos area and San Antonio pit were prepared at the Chemex lab facility in Chihuahua, Mexico, and analyzed by ICP and AA methods at their facilities in Vancouver, Canada. The channel surface samples for the San Juan were analyzed by AA and FA at the Malpaso mill laboratories facilities.
Quality control
The quality assurance-quality control (QA-QC) of Dia Bras and their contractors is as follows:
Samples are collected and handled only by Dia Bras authorized personnel, who collected them utilizing the methods described above. Samples were bagged and labeled with unique sample numbers on site then transported by Dia Bras personnel to the Dia Bras core handling facility and there stored for shipment. Weekly, ALS Chemex authorized personnel picked up and transported samples from Dia Bras core handling facility directly to their Chihuahua, Mexico sample prep facility.
