Of the six guidelines, for the CRYFQ forum, if I had to choose, I believe only "1" and "2" should be strictly adhered to as possible bannable offenses. I believe these are absolutely necessary to maintain respectful interaction of members.
If "off-topic" is to be allowed (which seems it already is) on the Main Board, it must apply as an allowance for ALL members and ALL Hub Leaders. If allowed, off topic posts should never be deleted on the main board. Would strongly suggest that the off topic posts be clearly marked by the author, to assist those who have complained about off topic posts. My suggestion would be that off-topic posts should always have their own thread indicated as such with a header that is very obvious. Or, maybe something like, "OT: <insert subject>," or similar.
Saying, "Hi," or, "Thanks," is nice and all, but we must respect the members that are seriously reviewing the CRYFQ Hub only for relevant information concerning Crystallex. A compromise should include a required thread title change of the thread header/title to assist them. It requires effort of the off-topic poster, but since we are talking about compromising a Guideline, those who want to write off topic posts must make their own compromise.
Members and Hub Leaders should not be allowed to interject off topic into any on-topic thread without changing/editing the thread title to make it absolutely clear, and obvious, that it is an off topic post. So, I would suggest that any off-topic posts (not changing the header or placing OT as previously mentioned) in an on-topic thread should be flagged and warned. Never deleted. Hub Leaders processing such a flag should edit the Agora warning PM to include wording such as, "Any off-topic post should have their own thread and/or be clearly labeled for the benefit of members not wanting to read off topic messages." This is a compromise and will take extra HL effort, but again, we are compromising a Guideline. This is absolutely necessary to respect those who do not want to wade through the off-topic posts.
