Ok, actually the Nikkei is down at this time. But, they opened today and are conducting business. This is a good thing.

No updates on the nuke plants since the last PR's by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). Been checking every now and then while running around the house today.

TEPCO refers to the earthquake as the Miyagi quake, while some are refering to it as the Sendai quake (as I did on the main board). Sendai is the City closest to the epicenter. Miyagi is the Prefecture. A Prefecture is something akin to a State or County.

Just to give an idea of the distances... Tokyo is about 230 miles from the epicenter. My relatives/family live in Saitama City, a little bit north of Tokyo, in Saitama Prefecture. Saitama City is about the same distance as Tokyo from the epicenter. My friends in Narita, one of two Tokyo airports, are only a little closer to the epicenter.

The Fukushima Nuke Plants having problems are about 130 miles from the epicenter, but are on the coast so were also inundated by the tsunami.
