“There is nothing what to discuss”, affirmed to east Sunday president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez in response to the initiative of a person in charge of the United States who maintained that its country is prepared to promote the dialogue to solve the present crisis between Caracas and Bogota.

“When one is sovereignty we did not discuss anything, the sovereignty does not discuss ourselves. There is nothing what to discuss”, affirmed Chávez after to vote in the internal elections of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

Friday, the spokesman of the Department of American State, Ian Kelly, called to Bogota and Caracas “to lower the level of the rhetoric” and indicated the disposition of their country to mediate in the conflict, caused by a military agreement between Colombia and the United States that Chávez considers a “threat” for Venezuela and all the region.

“We called to the parts to lower the level of the rhetoric and to sit down again to produce practical approaches that they solve the conflict and they reduce the tension”, raised Kelly.

“He is something that must solve countries both, clearly, but the United States is interested in promoting the stability and the dialogue”, added.

“A practical, very practical thing: they retire the bases of Colombia”, insisted Chávez. “That is what must do (the United States). He is very practitioner”, reiterated. (With AFP/MINCI information)

“Revolutionary” defeat

“Their declarations are provoking but useless. I do not see what Chávez scene could enter a war with Colombia. Not only it would be defeated but it would lose the power”, it expressed the French political expert Pascal Boniface, director of the private Institute of International and Strategic Relations of Paris.

In a Latin American hypothesis military, “United States and other countries they would go to help Colombia. When somebody causes as Chávez does, the best thing is not to do case to him. If we do case to him we are making him a favor”, it assured Boniface.
