Jon Stewart Blasts Jim Cramer On 'Daily Show' Appearance

"The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart faced off against Jim Cramer and his
network, CNBC, Thursday night in a meeting Comedy Central called the "Jim Cramer
Battle."

The Associated Press reported that Stewart hammered Cramer, host of "Mad
Money" for putting entertainment above journalism.

"I understand that you want to make finance entertaining, but it's not a ...
game," Stewart told Cramer, adding in an expletive during the show's Thursday
taping.

The program opened in mock hype of the confrontation, which caught headlines
through the week as each sniped at the other over the air. The show announced it
as "the weeklong feud of the century," the AP reported.

Stewart said he and Cramer are both snake-oil salesmen, only "The Daily Show"
is labeled as such, the AP reported. Stewart said CNBC failed in its
journalistic duty by believing corporate lies, rather than taking an
investigative approach.

The AP noted Cramer disagreed with Stewart on some points, but also admitted
he could have done a better job foreseeing the economic collapse: "We all should
have seen it more."

CNBC is owned by General Electric Co., and Comedy Central is owned by Viacom
Inc.
