About 25 years ago I was in the software business as a regional sales manager. A new national sales manager had just been hired who was from IBM.

Her first order of business was to CANCEL ALL distribution contracts. Needless to say the very large distributors freaked out because without our software product they stood to lose millions of dollars in additional sales.

What did she accomplish by doing this?

It was clear to everyone who had the power and who could could extend the gravy train. This recent drama with the permits reminds me of that time and this permit rescission makes it clear who has the power sort of.

It should also be noted, that after two years of her being hired she was also fired simply because the sources that MAKE the money always prevail. Another way of saying this is that politics and money ALWAYS trumps bureaucrats.

I think we are right on top of the turn around. Tighten down the sails. Monster winds on the horizon.
