Every swipe, either credit or debit, makes Visa (and MasterCard) money.  Only difference between credit and debit is that credit delays the payment on a short term loann basis, while debit immediately moves funds from your designated account.  At least that is my understanding.  The class action lawsuit against Visa (and MasterCard) over debit cards is why their books do not look so rosie right now.
