There is no point in accepting a settlement now. We've got them cornered and we should get every penny plus interest.
On KRY's award, interest is calcuated at the 6-month average U.S. Dollar LIBOR + 1%, compounded annually, calculated from 13 April 2008. In April of 2008, the 6-month avg US. Libor was 2.61%. So add one percent to that and the interest rate should be approx 3.61% on the total award. The award was $1.202 billion and I think around $970 million of principal is still owed. By my calculation, if the award is paid exactly 16 years from April 13, 2008 – on April 13, 2024, then the interest should amount to $740,797,131.94 making the total award $1,710,797,131.94
