Venezuela Can't Stay $1.4B Award Without Bond, Judge Says

Law360, New York (August 8, 2017, 4:47 PM EDT) -- A D.C. federal judge on Tuesday denied Venezuela’s bid to pause enforcement of Canadian mining company Crystallex’s $1.4 billion arbitral award without posting a bond, finding the country has failed to provide assurance that it plans to pay the judgment.
