Caracas, 03 Sep. AVN.- Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro said Wednesday that Venezuela is making progress in strengthening its economic development, a fact evidenced by the signing of 14 agreements with the People's Republic of China to strengthen national production and overcome the economic war.

"The world we aspire to build is the world of work, economic development, prosperity and the encounter between civilizations," Maduro said at the end of the China-Venezuela High-Level Joint Commission meeting, on Wednesday in Beijing.

He reported that the country reached an agreement with China for 5 billion dollars for investment in oil projects, as well as another one for the construction of a tire manufacturer and the consolidation of new material industries for the Great Housing Mission Venezuela.

"We are moving ahead steadily in the solid bond between China and Venezuela," said the president.

The 14 agreements reached during this presidential working tour, are part of the joint development plan 2015-2025 agreed by both nations, and for which the Chinese government invested $ 30 billion. Among the most important agreements –said the Venezuelan president– is a mining project for the exploitation of gold in Venezuelan territory.

"We have signed an agreement for the development and rational use, within the framework of the ecosocialism, of gold mining in Venezuela, encouraging the development of new sources of foreign revenues," Venezuelan president stated.

He added a branch of the Confucius Institute will be set up in Venezuela with the aim of creating a space that fosters cultural and spiritual closeness and exchange of both peoples. "There has been a very important meeting of people, civilizations and cultures. I hope that very soon we will be opening in Venezuela a branch of Confucius Institute. Let's study the ancient culture of China, its identity and thinking."

Maduro stated that these agreements between Venezuela and China, strengthen growth projections set by the Bolivarian Revolution amid an economic, psychological and media war that aims to threaten the peace of the nation.

In this regard, he called on Venezuelans and the Chinese delegation in Beijing, to never neglect the peace, a gain owned after years of repression and imperialist aggression.

"We have to take care of peace. There are great threats to peace of our country and the region, but I know that we will emerge victorious from these threats. However, we must be vigilant every day," he said.

He indicated that these agreements will be key tools to overcome any economic difficulties, and added that by 2019 Venezuela will enjoy greater strength, a main goal of the Joint Committee.

"That's what the joint committee is meant: to continue along the difficulties, to continue confronting storms and amid the conflict discover development opportunities and move forward, steadily, in the solid union of China and Venezuela, to build this new model of integration, work and shared development," said Maduro.
