Buy gold in Guyana will be regulated by Presidential Commission

The Presidency of the Republic created the Presidential Commission for the Protection, Development and Promotion of Integral lawful mining activity in the Guayana region. This body is responsible for proposing and create "rules regulating gold buying centers for the Central Bank of Venezuela."

Indicates Presidential Decree No. 841, published in the Official Gazette 40,376, the rules established for the regulation of the sale of gold will be set according to the reference rate of the Complementary Alternative purchasing system CURRENCY I (Sicad I).

The committee will be chaired by the Minister of State for Development Region of Guyana. It will also feature the participation of Bolivar and Amazonas state. In addition, the head of the State Comprehensive Guyana Defence and Commander of the Operational Areas Integral Defense Bolívar and Amazonas.

The minister of this committee will choose the mayors of the municipalities of the Guayana region having an impact on the mining activity in the area to participate in the group.
