Definately sounds like a typical stall tactic but there could be other reasons.
Why would you try and get rid of your own nominee after 1 week of a 2 week hearing unless you didn't like the way things were going. If it was something that he did before the hearing (like a ruling in a different case) why wouldn't they ask to have him removed before the hearing started?
I wonder how long it will take the other 2 judges to decide if they should allow Florentino Feliciano to be removed? I imagine it will set our time table back a bit but no way of nowing how long.
