The Toronto Maple Leafs let a series win slip through their fingers and Henrik Lundqvist was perfect again for the New York Rangers in a night of Game 7s. This and more in Monday's Stanley Cup stories:

1. Hockey Night in Canada's opening montage was set to Metallica's Seek & Destroy, and that's exactly what the Bruins did to the Maple Leafs in Game 7. Toronto held a 4-1 lead in the third period, with a trip to the second round so close they could taste it. But it all came crashing down for the Leafs when Boston roared back and scored three times in under 10 minutes to force overtime. Centre Patrice Bergeron, who had the tying goal, struck again in OT to cap a 5-4 Bruins' victory and end the Leafs' playoff run.

2. With Boston's rally over Toronto, the Bruins became the first team in NHL history to win a Game 7 after trailing by three goals in the third period. Current and former NHLers congratulated the Bruins on accomplishing the feat. Ex-Maple Leafs winger Mark Osborne tweeted, "I just witnessed the unthinkable in Boston. Never seen or experienced anything like this. At 4-1 I was thinking of home ice vs Rangers.. Not." Supporters of the blue and white were just as stunned, but remained proud and optimistic.
