Twenty-seven people were arrested in the Core 10, as they walked, on Wednesday, to the river to practice Yuruari mining. Yesterday, those listed were transferred from the Army at Fort Tarabay headquarters in Tumeremo Cicpc, to be outlined considering the violation of Decree 8413 which penalizes small-scale mining.

The arrest and subsequent charge of crime unleashed a wave of protests and solidarity in the provincial capital Sifontes, who lives in mining, demanding the immediate release of the detainees.

Carlos Chancellor, former councilor, former mayor and candidate for that office again by the Bureau of Democratic Unity, said that once again tries to criminalize mining, is set in gold nationalization decree, reserving to the State the exploration and gold mining and other strategic minerals.

Unit mining
leader recalled that the southern municipalities depend on this activity, and while there is no alternative, people prefer to go to the mines.

Commented that produced a revival of the mining industry, which was given in concession to a Chinese company, which considered reprehensible, could have an outlet for reservoir operators, which are thousands of families in Sifontes, El Callao and Roscio.

Following the transfer of detainees to Cicpc miners, hundreds of people crowded outside to demand his release. Chancellor says that while there is no road closure, yes there is a peaceful action waiting in the area, as many of those arrested are the municipality, although there is some foreign rule.

Commercial Solidarity
Oscar Mota, representative of the Chamber of Commerce Sifontes, to the media said the organization joined the peaceful actions all establishments closing yesterday, because the people living in mining and sales have fallen 50% in recent weeks because of the insecurity and lack of other jobs.

"We want to establish a position in relation to the 8413 Decree. We believe that if you are going to fulfill it must have a dialogue to explain and garantizársele the right to work in the mining town, because the people of the southern mining is live, nothing else. Tourism has fallen by insecurity and fuel crisis, there is nothing here that mines ".

Mota said they agree with the reversal of mining areas located in the basins of the rivers, but also warns that people could be relocated to other lands, and so garantizárseles an opportunity to earn a decent living.

He noted that mining is a social problem that the state must meet, and that while there is no economic alternative and gold prices are so high (more than $ 1,650 an ounce) will follow the rise of this activity and is in hiding, because many prefer to go risking calamity.

"We are opposed to violence. The actions we are doing are peaceful, we have to agree on what we do with the decree. We propose a new extension while we dialogue, really, all the factors, so that it can comply with the law but denial of employment to thousands of people living in this activity, "said the spokesman.

Meanwhile, the people of Tumeremo 27 miners expected to be released detainees, and in case of not being prepared for further action as "arbitrary" measures of Plan Caura.
