Maybe the timing of the symbol change is just part of the game (along with the "Bancruptcy warning" on the OTC quote page) i.e., throw some fear out there in an attempt to cause some panic selling and then manipulate the bid/ask to drive the point home. Seems like a good way to pick up cheap shares if you don't have a problem participating in corruption and unethical behavior.
