Caracas .- Venezuela offers 1,000 billion to Exxon Mobil for the nationalization of its assets in the country, said Minister of Energy and Petroleum Rafael Ramirez.
Although the Attorney General's Office, Carlos Escarrá said they were in talks with the oil, the president of PDVSA told Reuters that it is negotiating with Exxon out of international arbitral tribunals.
The dispute between Exxon and PDVSA has been one of the most hostile he has faced Venezuela. In 2008, the U.S. firm was able to temporarily freeze up to 12,000 billion in foreign assets of the state, but a British court then dismissed the action.
