64% of the gold production of Minerven of 2010 were destined to the BCV, according to the directive

Minister of Basic Industries and Minería (Mibam), Jose Khan, announced yesterday in the morning of the decision of the National Executive to remove the board of directors of state the auriferous CVG Minerven, and to replace it by one in agreement with the present exigencies “to also have a productive mining but a mining that respects the atmosphere and to the human being”.

The Executive made the decision, but he did not execute it. The president of the state one, Luis Herrera, assured - in press conference from the airport of Guayana- City that had not been notified of any change. In fact, he indicated, that this Thursday received a communication of the secretariat of the Republic congratulating it by the management of CVG Minerven.

“I am a public servant, no public servant is eternal in the positions, if the president of the Republic considers that I must go out on vacations or play another position, will determine he it”.

“We fulfilled our mission until the authority considers”, it added.

Herrera indicated its satisfaction by the nationalization of the gold that - it affirmed “has a content of rescue of the mineral reserves that lie in the subsoil of the state Bolivar and the country, and that can be used for an industrial development in the South zone”.

With the control of the plant of Revemin processing, pertaining to the Canadian group Crystallex; the Breeze reversion of the Cuyuní de Inc. Gold Reserve; and the recovery of the plant the Camorra and Block B, this last patient by the mixed company Venrus, Herrera considers that Minerven took an advance step that marked the way towards the nationalization.

Sabotage like cause
In the 2010, Minerven produced 56.9% less than gold compared with the 2009 when happening production of 4,263 to 1,837 kilograms. The state declivity of the auriferous one has its cause. According to Herrera, the transnational ones initiated in 2010 a sabotage towards the state one, “because it is the unique company that has taken position and expanded the mining activity with the rescue of Revemin, the Camorra, Block B”.

“From the 2010 they initiated a campaign of I sabotage, even, led by some unionists, moored by people of right and an amount of people who have not stopped conspiring against the Government”.

In which it goes of 2011 have registered 116 days of “illegal” paralyzations, without the Ministry of the Work and the Office of the public prosecutor have taken part.

Without support
In spite of the productive deterioration of Minerven and the conflict by labor reclamations, there has been no institutional support. Minister Khan was in the Pebble during three days and he did not meet with Luis Herrera to discuss the situation.

Publicly, Herrera has blamed the governor of the state Bolivar; to the holder of the Mibam and members of the Bolivariana Federation de Trabajadores (FBT) to sabotage its management.

“Minister Khan considered that he had to go with the together inspector, but not with the general manager or the president of the company; perhaps because it considered that a labor conflict existed and went with the union leadership”.

- Has sabotaged him the management?

- Clear that yes, uff I have said… it publicly, sectors of the FBT, sectors of the Interior, even, sectors of the Mibam.

In agreement with Herrera, “there is much people who feel ambition by Minerven and that is allowed”.

State future
Although there is investment no defined for the state one, the president of the auriferous one, Luis Herrera, informed that the Central bank of Venezuela (BCV) approved around US$ 500 million for projects of auriferous tails, recovery of levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Colombia mine and gold refinery facing the certification and monetary gold production.

Of the private company Protécnica, aspires to receive US$ 550 million dollars for the operation of the mine Méndez Soda. “Those four projects give to a US$ investment 1,000 million us and that is ready for the grill”, added.

In spite of the expectations, it indicated that in the present operative circumstances the state one will not surpass a production of 2,000 kilos to the 2011 closing, consequently would continue being significantly below the installed capacity of 8,105 kilograms.

In his opinion, a mining national plan is vital that impels the starting of the exploration and production in inactive deposits.

Enquistadas Mafias

The president of the Republic, Hugo Chavez, has indicated that the Mafias not only are present in aluminum and the iron and steel sector, but also in gold. The holder of Minerven, Luis Herrera, shares the appreciation and assures that the Mafias follow enquistadas in the sector.

“A company like Crystallex that is six years old with a contract of the State without being able to operate 30 million ounces of gold is a Mafia, because it takes hold the deposit, takes it to Canada, sells action, wins silver and we did not receive half nor”.

In his opinion, this type of Mafias maintains its tentacles in the country. “That Mafia is necessary to finish it. People have her lobistas and its interests, that is the fight in Venezuela”.
