Nice little pop Thursday on both OTC and TSX. And, if it holds, could be something nice to end the week. CRYXF MM's still trying to get a feel for the trading of this play. May take a while for them to figure this one out. Unfortunately, when dealing with flippers it makes it tough on retail. Not like the good ol' days of the Amex. Technicals still showing downtrend, running between lower BB and 15-20 Day MA. Stoch showing some life with some herky-jerky Bullishness.
S&P and Dow set to open lower. Asia mixed and Europe down. Setting up for an ugly down day. May see a little upside during the trading day after yesterday's bounce, but need some better economic news for a sustained uptrend. Fib numbers say today is an upside day to break the five straight weeks of downside. However, it is a roll of the dice after seeing the futures. QE2 ending has players bailing and the rumor of a QE3 will likely only be the continued stealth Bond buying by USGov. How did I miss the crop report yesterday? Corn expected to hit $9/bushel (about $8 now) by end of year. If you're thinking it is your imagination that your grocery dollar is not going far now, its not - food has gone up - and look out in another six months. For those trading commodoties, could be an opportunity for profit. Unfortunately, inflation might eat up that profit. Oil had some upside since the OPEC meeting fiasco. Big Guy Saudi wants $75 oil, while little guys like Chavez want the 100+ oil. Saudi is going its own way now by increasing output, so will be interesting. Speculators are liking Chavez, while us consumers still suffer at the pump. Tough Market, so protect yourself.
Gold Silver Copper all slightly down at this time, just before Market open. Gold chart fighting back, so GLD may be a decent place for the pending Market flatness of gold miners. SLV may be good until Silver hits around $55-60. Summer is usually flat for Gold miners, especially Gold Juniors. Although, there is a small pop predicted around mid-July and expected by some. Still likely flatness-downside for Gold Juniors for next few weeks, then maybe the mid-July pop, then back to flatness-downside.
Hope everyone's weekend is a good one.
