The Ministry of People's Power for Basic Industries and Mining (Mibam) jointly with the Subcommittee on Mines of the National Assembly delivered to President Hugo Chavez, in a span of two months, the new draft Law of Mines, for be approved by the Enabling Law.

During a press conference that was held at the headquarters of Mibam, Deputy Minister of Mines, Iván Hernández, said that among the most important aspects covered in this new proposal are: the incorporation of rural and indigenous communities in the implementation project, the national value added, among others.

"Within this legal instrument will include the removal of concessions given the need for the State to exercise full sovereignty over all mineral resources in the country. In this sense, we create community cooperatives and associative forms, which are responsible for exercising of mining to small and medium scale senior official explained.

He also said that no concessions will be renewed whose term expires, so that within the new legal text states that these deposits are to become exploited by joint ventures, whose main shareholder in the Venezuelan state.
