OF- the following is just my opinion but i think there's some merit to it.

the original protest was over kry not opening the mine, not living up to contractual obligations for jobs/water plants/etc. and using illegal miners to mine the gold...chancellor and saud were arrested for the protest and blocking the gates/road to LC...

my take has been that ven officials held up the permit, stole the money meant for public services and ran thier own mining operation with illegals....

the scary part is that chancellor/saud were actually on the ground at LC and dont seem to be the average bananahead .... we will probably never know the full truth to this story but i think the main reason they are blaming kry for this whole mess is because blaming hugo has real consequences...

one thing that does bother me about this is that kry was contractually obligated to secure LC from illegal miners.... i think when the rubber hits the road they better have some proof that the illegal mining (if any was done at LC) was sanctioned by ven officials. imo niether side wants this part of the story to come out in any court. ugly mess.
