The protest of the town of Tumeremo, capital of the Sifontes municipality, prevented that the Municipal Council completed the declaration of absolute absence of Carlos Chancellor like elect mayor. On the contrary, the inhabitants demand justice for the mayor more voted of the state Bolivar.

A group of people went out to protest that Carlos Chancellor is “as much imprisoned time in defense of the miners of and its people”.

A school for 354 students, improvements in the electrical system and water provision, support to the sport, grant from an ambulance to the hospital is enumerating Cedeño.

“The workers of the Mayorship had three years that did not pay vacations to them, Christmas bonds, of feeding and benefits. We paid to them in time. We respect the town and its will”, reiterates the designated mayoress.

Legal turns

“Political Sicariato”

Article 87 of the Statutory law of the Municipal Public Power establishes: “The temporary absences of the Mayor or Mayoress will be replaced by the civil servant of high level of direction that he himself designates. If the temporary lack extends by more than ninety days consecutive, the Council will declare if it must be considered like absolute absence.

When the absolute absence of the Mayor or Mayoress takes place before taking possession from the position or fulfilling half of its legal period, it will be come to a new election in the date that fixes electoral the organism competent.

When the absolute lack takes place passed more than half of the legal period, the Council will designate to one of its members so that it exerts the vacant position of Mayor or Mayoress reason why it remains of the municipal period. The Mayor or designated Mayoress or designated will have to act his as according to the municipal plan of development approved for the management (...)”.
