Herrera recalled Ferrocasa was constituted as a joint venture in 1970 and was nationalised in 1974.
Since then it has operated in deposits granted by the Venezuelan Government in El Callao, municipality in the southern state of Bolívar.
The metal produced by Ferrocasa is emptied in 7.5 kilograms, with a rate of between 70 and 85% purity ingots.
"50% of our production is sold directly to the BCV, according to legal regulations, while 25% is sold on the international market", said.
The remaining 25% is sold in the domestic market, especially to the jewelry sector activity which live many artisans located in El Callao and neighboring communities.
It also explained that two years ago the company handled Colombia mines, Sosa Méndez, Revemin and La Camorra, these last three operated by private companies.
