The stage has been set in the press with many news items and pending deadlines (vague though they may be):

• Miners in El Callao on permanent vigil waiting for "funds transfer" to cancel tickets
• Gold sales law clarified
• Stated intent by Venezuela to get the gold out of the ground ASAP
• Stated revised (and looming) 4th quarter JV deadline reaffirmed by Fung
• Permit "freeze" broken with recent issuance of permit to Rusoro
• Caura Plan implemented...miners evicted, alternative structures being developed
• JV paperwork complete...awaiting rubberstamp by El Piggo
• Resolution prior to upcoming quarterly report is priority of new JV (by definition)
• Latest news (today) states the fate of Las Cristinas is in Hugo Chavez's hands
• Khan in China...promises to "cancel tickets of miners" upon return
