It is not the press that nicknamed him "Chino". It was picked up by the press because at union meetings it was the Vz who called him "Chino" not "Chinese" because his eyes are slanted like orientals in general. Also I am not being antichinese when I say this. And it is not intended to be derogetary. Plus his face is yellow.
