The market does not seem to like the latest developments. Is there any way to tell whether and when institutions are selling?

I dunno. It was refreshing to see KRY coming streaming across the CNBC scroll this morning at 6:30 am while I was drinking my morning coffee. Unfortunately, it was for the AMEX biggest 10% losers.
