NY Times said the same for Hong Kong (10/1 only), but Shanghai is closed all week. I don't know which one China Rail trades on.

In any case, I don't believe a public company can pick which day they can announce material events. If Fung came back with a signature it would be material and would have to be announced ASAP.

I could be wrong, but I believe its true. I remember RM saying something several years ago when everyone was speculating they would announce the permit at the Annual Shareholder meeting. He had said (I believe) that they could not choose when they announced a material event.

That said, KRY has a very subjective view of when something is a material event as we have seen in the past.
