Residents perform assembly 88 km

Representatives of the land committee Chirel peasant settlement, located at kilometer 88 of Highway-Ciudad Bolivar Puerto Ordaz extended the invitation to the community of the rural sector to attend a meeting to be held next September 11.

Elpidio Gonzalez, a member of the committee, explained the reason for the meeting. The neighbors are hoping to take custody of some public lands for nearly four years.

The meeting will take place at school in the rural sector on Saturday at 10:00 am.

"Many families are in need and those are lands that they might produce, we have tried to talk to the owners know to who they are and talk to them but we have not received a response. So we want to do the assembly because we want everyone's opinion, "said Gonzalez.

According to neighborhood leaders, residents of El Chirel be supported by Article 33 of the Urban Land Law, which states "may act as custodian of land in process and which have been declared without use, to ensure good from enemies. In no case may the trustees occupy this land. "
