Miners will meet with Environment Minister
Monday, August 30, 2010
Regional Director of Ministry of Environment reported yesterday, in the morning to the miners that the Minister Alejandro Hitcher will receive next Thursday, September 2 in his office. Will be 15 representatives from sectors such as Ikabarú, Santa Elena de Uairen Tumeremo, Las Claritas, La Paragua and others that take as topics on the agenda to discuss the implementation of commitments made under the mining conversion, as the promised compensation for each miner since 2006.

He demanded compensation for 21 colleagues for their engines, which were "lost in the courts of the National Guard in La Paragua.

They expect the social works that were to be run out because the only work they have done is the Malecon of La Paragua.

Hitcher require study and evaluate promptly granting the permits in the 15 areas identified by Mibam. GS
