I stole this from the Take5 post:

"Chavez, who is up for re-election in 2012, has warned his supporters that opposition control of the National Assembly would undo some of the government's efforts toward socialism."

We have all been thinking the mining announcement would help Chavez in the NA election, but what if he can't announce because the agreement is not in force prior to the election?

Could the Chinese and / or KRY "negotiate" for a few weeks more to see if the majority control of the NA changes?
