Good strategy, that's all, why waste it

Assuming a green light on Las Cristinas would affect the vote one way or another....I wonder if it could backfire to announce it before the election. Perhaps the "artisinal" miner wants no part of the multi-nationals getting all the spoils. That line of thought would argue for an announcement after the September election.

Pen is probably right....The Las Cristinas green light will be part of a big blathering long winded chest beating announcement of Las Cristinas and other projects\accomplishments that is presented as a cohesive plan to kick the mining sector into the 21st century. If that is the case, you'd think they'd want the PR ahead of the election. Who knows how these nimrods think.
