Well, China has just made a deal with a Canadian oil sand company, Penn West, that has similarities with our deal. They have bought 45% share in Penn West's oil sands project in Alberta. They will also put up the money into development, and a 5% share of the company...sound familiar? They won't have controlling interest, but are sinking 1.8 billion total, which includes a $435 million 5% investment in Penn West. China apparently has a fair amount of expertise in heavy oil extraction.
