66 days of the implementation of the Caura Plan on the part of the National Government, the authorities are led the accomplishment of the environmental work to determine the level of the affectation to the ecosystem, product of the indiscriminate action of the illegal mining in the river basin of the Caura River and located others to the south of the country. Thus the minister informed into the Popular Power for the Atmosphere, Alexander Hitcher, who said that “already we are in a process of harvesting of samples, as much in water biodiversity as, to be characterizing the size of the environmental affectation that he left this activity illegal and the biorremediación workings that will be necessary”, added.

Pitcher said that a brigade of the Front Francisco de Miranda,

integrated by 150 young people, one is forming in the environmental subject to work next to the communities in the restoration of the affected zones.

In agreement with the minister, already one evacuated all the miners of the place. In addition, a social and communitarian work with the inhabitants of the bordering communities is being realised.

The minister emphasized that with this program a policy of environmental protection is executed with which it is wanted to develop and to promote the sustainability of the natural resources.

“The Caura policy means the eradication for always of the illegal mining and the establishment of a policy of conservation and environmental protection of those patrimonies in biodiversity and water”, affirmed.

The plan includes the cleaning of all the river basins located in the south of the country, among them those of the rivers Caura, Caroní and Cuyuní, in the states Bolivar, Amazon and Delta Amacuro.

The Caura river, located in the state Bolivar, is one of the natural areas more affected by the mineral extraction, reason for which the National Government decided to implement the plan that takes its name.

The affluent is located between the municipalities Cedeño and Sucre of this organization, to the south-east of Venezuela.
