The sale price for the gold is definitely the key to valuing this deal. I think the deal stinks, but given that most people on this board seem to be prepared to bend over to pick up the soap and take it then I am sure it will proceed.

But I for one am not convinced that the Chinese can push Hugo around and get us a fair price for the gold. This may be just wishful thinking.

Hugo's not afraid of the US. He's not afraid of the Russians. Why is he suddenly going to be afraid of the Chinese?

You can fault Hugo for alot of things but he does a good job of keeping the benefits of VZ resources in VZ.

Also, he's got quite a pair on him and he's not afraid to show it. So far, he doesn't seem to afraid of anything or anybody.
