I almost posted a news report from Mining Journal, that said this Shangdong mining was going to be investing in a stalled mining company in Venezuela.......trouble is that it was dated 2000. But this is from 2006. I didn't know that there already is a Chinese compmay in Venezuela, mining gold. It is a subsiduary of Shandong Mining, which I believe is the 3rd largest gold extractor in China.

(Hide copyright information)Copyright(BNamericas.com) - Employees of Venezuelan miner Ordaz Jinyan have started reactivation work at the Sosa Mendez gold mine after acquiring a pay bonus from Chinese company Shandong Gold, which is in charge of the work.
"Shandong Gold's president came and established a dialogue and they intend to negotiate... but there still isn't a concrete agreement with the company," administrative coordinator for regional labor unions Douglas Coriano told BNamericas.
Negotiations on the collective contract are still underway, so workers will continue meeting with the Chinese company and with state holding company CVG, said the
