Using the phrase financial and political clout when discussing our strategic partner limits the options to either Russia or China that would be suitable for Hugo. Now that Hugo has built his military up with the help of the Russians he can turn his attention to the guys with the real money.

As we have seen over the last 3 weeks China has taken a huge step in securing agreements on all resources in VZ. With all the money China is investing in VZ for mining it would make sense they would want to be part of a world class gold mine.
