Message: Chinese Involvement

I've always felt China, as far as countries go, would make the most sense.....they have the need/desire for gold, they have 100's billions US dollars to get invested before the US dollar tanks...and Chavez all but begs them to come and invest. The investment, relative to how much they have and how much they ARE investing in VZ is really quite small. If that was the case, then it wouldn't surprise me if Fungs friend, Li KI Shing, was lending them the $$ to get through this period. No doubt he has friends in the Chinese Development Bank, and would be doing them a big favour, as well as Fung.....also a bit of a payback to Fung, for his mentoring of one of Li Ki Shing's sons.

Thing is, it has to make economic sense to China...so lets see just what it would mean for them if they JV with VZ in a new company to mine LC, including Las Brisas, with KRY being the operator, just as before...maybe the terms would change.....for the heck of it, lets say it works out to 1/3 for each party....yeh, there are so many possibilities as to how a deal would look, but lets start here.

Lets forget how long or what it takes to get the mine built for now.....that is what it is.

If China put in the bucks to get the mine built, and gave KRY the 400 mil. that they have spent already, (includes the 100 mil. to pay off the bond holders) they're investment would be close to 1 billion. So they want to see that investment paid back, in so many years, and then...what kind of return are they going to see?

If the mine produces 500,000 ounces ( 15.5 tons)once it's in full running mode, that gold will be worth aprox. $600 before expenses, at todays price. Take off, what, 30% for expenses, and your left with what ...aprox. 433 million dollars. I/3 of that is about $144,000,000, or (4.5 tons of gold) at todays prices. Is that worth it to China.....even if they were able to take it all home....? Of course in 2 years, the price of gold could very likely be twice what it is now... I imagine it would, as they are getting rid of US dollars, and getting gold in return.

So it would take anywhere from 3-7 years to recoup there investment, then 4.5 tons of gold a year.

All very rough figuring, but of cours it has to make sense to them...

That's only one scenario out of many, that could occurr. KRY would still be the operator, their MC would go to $300 mil, share price to $4, and we would be happier than pigs in sh#*...

Heck, gotta spend my time doing something :)
