Chinese president suspends visit to Venezuela by earthquake

Managua. - The Chinese president, Hu Jintao, suspended the visit that he had predicted to realise this Saturday to Venezuela, like part of a tour by Latin America, because of the happened earthquake Wednesday in China, that left more than 600 deads, president Hugo Chavez informed east Thursday during his visit to Nicaragua.

President Hu “has called to me and he has explained to me (.) that lamentably he had to suspend the trip to Caracas of this Saturday” to take care of the emergencia provoked after the tremor, said Chávez, during a press conference that offered in Managua after meeting with its homologous Nicaraguan, Daniel Grouse, indicated AFP.

Chávez decided with the Chinese governor to reprogramar the date of the visit, in a telephone conversation in which it was useful to express his condolencias to him by the tragedy.

According to the Venezuelan agent chief executive, Hu Jintao will return to Beijing from Brazil, where Wednesday arrived to participate in II the summit of the BRIC, (Brazil, Russia, India and China).

Chávez did not need if the Chinese president would travel to China before or after the summit that initiates east Friday in Brazil.

The Chinese president arrived Wednesday at Brazil, within the framework of periplo by the region that would also include to Venezuela and Chile, in order to strengthen the economic bows with Latin America.

Chávez realised Wednesday his sixth official visit to Nicaragua to evaluate with Grouse the advance of several projects of cooperation.

The Venezuelan president had predicted to travel the dawn from this Thursday to Cuba.
