item, the flip side of the coin is when hugo is gone there will be a ton of business opportunies in venezuela. this will flood money into venezuela and allow the new government to provide jobs, etc..i agree the damge hugo has done will take decades to correct but there's nowhere to go but up after he's gone...

the international arbitration will probably take care of itself, the suits are thru icsid and i'm sure the world bank would just love to help a new (more democratic) government in venezuela....they'll probably just loan ven money by paying off companies with icsid awards (considering icsid and world bank are pretty much one in the same that should'nt be too hard)....also, many of the companies with cases in icsid would probably forego thier cases in lieu of payments to the ven govt for getting back to business in venezuela..

if ven does a 180' and elects a "fedecameras" chamber of commerce type government they could change the current situation pretty quickly imo....the real problem is that many of the ven population seem to be pretty accustomed to the "socialist gimme' virus"....getting these folks back to work will be the most difficult part...same can be said for many countries right now...
