Crystallex International Corporation is a Canadian-based gold company with a successful record of developing and operating gold mines in Venezuela and elsewhere in South America
Belanger, gets too much credit for, in effect, running out of the ability to manouver themselves into a positive situation. Basically, he ran out of options and he had no choice but to file for arbitration. Not exactly what I would consider a stellar performance. He basically threw up his arms and said "OK I'm Stumped!!!"
He didn't have the ability to create any new, alternate avenues to negotiate or picque Venezuelas interest. He just failed.....plain and simple.
EZ...we don't know what we don't know. For all we know....GRZ might be the fly in the ointment with respect to getting our own situation resolved. There have been numerous rumors to this effect. Any number of hypothetical scenarios can be entertained in this regard. In the meantime, Doug B has started the arbitration clock running for his shareholders with an "FU" settlement number of $5 Billion and left KRY to do all the heavy lifting in terms of negotiating with the knuckleheads in Venezuela. Arguably (given this line of thought), in terms of final negotiated terms...GRZ's gain might be KRY's loss. Perhaps it wasn't Doug B's "(lack of) ability to create any new, alternate avenues to negotiate or picque Venezuelas interest"....perhaps it was simply an alternate strategy the results of which have yet to be revealed.
