item, i probably should have made a seperate thread for my barrick thoughts. with barricks resources and the ability to withdraw a vannessa suit, and the ability to avoid a crystallex suit, i would think these "masters of the universe management guys" could figure out how to back a political campaign for a "chamber of commerce" type leader in venezuela so that (even if it takes til 2012) we'd end up mining LC and everyone would make out....

i dont "expect fung to pull everything out of his ass"... but i believe there have been a number of opportunities (even now) for kry to use PR in order to keep a positive face in front of the locals down there. the way it is right now, the locals blame much of the problems in mining on kry (or transnationals) which wont help us even if hugo is thrown out.......i think a well placed campaign/news article could have stressed to the locals that the government was to blame and pressured hugo to either issue a permit or formally nationalize us....

as it is, i'm really not sure what kry is hoping to accomplish? are they trying to maintain the contract until a new government is in? dont forget, kry won the MOC under hugo and much of the cash has already been spent, so any new government might not take to favorably to kry.
