Crystallex International Corporation is a Canadian-based gold company with a successful record of developing and operating gold mines in Venezuela and elsewhere in South America
President Chávez, with that threatening tone that characterizes to him, has said that he will begin to penalize establishments, commercial commerce, industries, centers and residences that have not fulfilled the goal of electricity saving. In other words, he has said that the revolutionary government will punish, by spendthrifts, to those who we inhabited this earth fallen in misfortune by work and art of Hugo Chavez.
So large impudence the one of this Commander-President! Soldier who has wasted 950 billions of dollars in 10 years in company of an equipment of incapable which he does not give explanations nor he renders accounts by so large irresponsibility, by to have given, to have hurled or to have enriched rojitos red pockets with a money that was of all. Who it punishes him? , Which Public prosecutor, Contralor, Deputy or Magistrate go to exert the law against that or who have taken to the Venezuelans to live without light, without water, between rowdies and assassins who have prisoners to us in our houses, breathing a vitiated air of smoke and sweepings? Which dares? Here freckle by action or omission. So guilty they are the one who having the power to execute the investments in the electrical sector, distracted the resources who knows in what, as they are it the one who did not control nor exerted the law controls. When all this finishes, that will finish, all will be responsible and have to pay.
It makes a draft of the Subcommission of Energy, National Assembly. President: Luis Tascon. Date: 14 OF MARCH OF 2002. Meeting “Electrical Tariff Sheet”.
Deputy Simón Jiménez began the meeting expressing that Venezuela has in the matter of energetics great challenges and as far as the national electrical sector, requires itself of investments in the activities of generation, transmission and provision.
The deputy Luis Rooms, limited that at the end of the 2001, “we were that the hydrologic fundamental source has been generating changes that are translated in a situation of power deficit”. He indicated in addition that efforts directed towards thermal sources are due to realise so that there is not rationing of the service (I repeat, this was in March of 2002).
Gustavo González, President of Caveinel (Venezuelan Camera of the Electrical Industry) affirmed that a power deficit exists in which the problem is not hydrologic, but thermal. A deficit of 12,000 GW exists, which could mean that Caracas or Valencia remains without the electrical service 24 hours or all the year. Caracas requires 12,000 GW/año. Valencia 1,600 GW/h. There are no incentives for the investment.
However, with this small transcription (I have all and them I will be commented in later columns) we can infer that the national government knows for at least 8 years, the gravity of the electricity crisis that was approached. Why it did not act? Or it will be certain what Victor affirms to the engineer Penny royal, ex- vice-minister of Energy and Petroleum of this government in the sense that the situation that we lived the Venezuelans obeys to a script written from Havana, where when extinguishing the light, bankruptcy the economy of the country and therefore equals us to all in the poverty and the Comunism in Venezuela is restored definitively… I do not have doubts and you reading friend? We are going away to pierce this… calladitos? It will dawn and we will see
