Looks to me like this Guiana Shield is not where Las Cristinas is, because the piece mentions two Parks in Venezuela that partially protect this amazing ecological area. The Itacla? National Park is not mentioned. ( the park that is protected, where Las Cristinas is ). I believe that Las Cristinas, at least KRY's part, was ok'd for mining in the park/reserve.
